An office chair mat is awesome but it better to buy chair casters because they last a lot longer.
Casters will last for a lifetime. I’m not against buying a chair mat but I think casters are a better solution for this problem.
My home office have laminate flooring and I have also tried an office chair mat, the mat was great but it didn’t last that long.

I prefer using the chair caster, it safe for all floors since it rubber wheels, great for all types of hardwood floors, great for people who have sensitive floors such as laminate flooring, engineered hardwood flooring and vinyl flooring.
The rubber chair casters will stop the office chair from damaging your expensive laminate floor, I myself replaced the original chair casters to the rubber ones and I’m very happy with the result.
I also like the office chair mat, but I personally would advice people to buy chair caster wheels simple because they last a lot longer than an office chair mat.
